Lesedi Kapinga Joins Sekhukhune United
Less than a month after leaving Orlando Pirates, Lesedi Kapinga has found a new club.
On Thursday, 3 October, Sekhukhune United announced the signing of the 29-year-old midfielder in a tweet:
“Sekhukhune United are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Lesedi Kapinga. Welcome to the Babina Noko family!”
According to reports, he was offered a one-year deal with a one-year option to extend. Details regarding his salary remain unknown.
Kapinga’s signing comes after he parted ways with the Buccaneers on 17 September. Falling out of favour with coach Jose Riveiro, he had very limited playing time: he made only 13 appearances and scored zero goals across all competitions during the 2023/24 season.
Now, Kapinga might find the opportunity to revitalise his career at Sekhukhune, who were looking to bolster their midfield options and enhance their overall performance in their current 2024/24 Betway Premiership campaign.
The team takes on Royal AM at Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal on 26 October. No doubt fans will keep their eyes open for Kapinga’s debut!
